ALLISON LANG is a performing artist creating and interpreting dance on the unsurrendered lands of the xwməθkwəy̓ əm, Skwxwú7mesh, and Səl̓ílwətaɬ First Nations / Vancouver. Guided by devotion and dissonance, her choreographic practice explores the surreal within the human experience, embracing absurdity, beauty, and truth. She is engaged in an ongoing inquiry into how to unweave, destabilize and build on shared practices as a way of dreaming into new modes of perception and relation.
In recent years, Allison has performed with Action at a Distance (2024-2026), Ballet Vancouver (2025-2026), Kokoro Dance (2023-2025), and Ballet Edmonton (2019-2022), and has participated in choreographic residencies with LEÑA, Odd Meridian Arts and The Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity. Allison’s work has been presented in Vancouver, Edmonton, Berlin, Beijing, and Oaxaca.
I acknowledge that I learn, create and share as a settler on stolen ancestral land that rightfully belongs to the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations in so-called "Vancouver, British Columbia". As a settler on these lands, I stand in solidarity with Indigenous sovereignty.
